MK 6N2 Evergreen POLO! NEW FIBREGLASS BOOT BUILD!
All Posts/Updates are all in this top post!
Yo, Welcome to my new thread of my Polo from when i bought it to when i sell it, when ever that is. I made this
pretty much just to show people my car, see what they like about it and to ask your opinions about what i
should do and what not, hope thats cool?
Pretty much just a standard 1.0l polo, year 2000.
Anyway here are the first pictures of pretty much it standard! with some bits done to it like,
sanded down the front VW logo to take the shine away, makes the finish look better,
took the lettering POLO off of the boot,
sub woofer in the boot,
two parcel shelf speakers,
Pretty much just want to get some new 15" alloy wheels next, take off the rear windscreen
wiper, get the side of the car painted. Once all that i done, ill update you with my next plans!
But untill then, peace!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update friday 11th june
So all my updates will be in the post so you can find them easily! Only a quick post as haven't done much to my car.
Only took my back windscreen wiper out just to make it look more flush, I'm well chuffed with it!
Next job is wiring up my speakers and the little paint job.
Until then...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
A little update today. Just went to halfords bought some matt black paint and thought i would
disguise the badge instead of buying a brand new de-badge-less grill!
First primed the logo with grey primer.
The waited for the to dry, a couple coats more...
Wacked out the black matt and gave it a few layers!
Tomorrow when its dry ill take a picture when its on the car!
Peace
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Tuesday the 15 June
Abit late but what the heck. The front of my car looks sick! ino spraying the VW logo is
not hard and is a bit pointless, but i just think it makes my car look different and better!
I've also added some more pictures of where I'm wiring I'm my speakers eventually
and the small spray job on my car! enjoy!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 22nd june
Pretty much just took my sub out of its box and started tonight to build a boot enclosure for it. Its turning out
pretty good i think, just hoping it all wires up again and just need to get some foam and black fabric. thinking
about a fake looking leather or something on the lines of that!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
update 23rd june
SOOO STOKED RIGHT NOW!
I went to town and got some black leather looking material for the boot! Was excited to finally get
home from riding my bike and finish the build. opened up my garage and boot, clearly final check
that the wood was the right size and got to work! i was thinking to my self that I'm going to take it
slow and get the job done right for once! i always get too excited and rush a job and it turns out s**t.
and it turned out f*****g amazing!!!
comment please!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 13 july
Sooo stoked today, finally after ages got my windows tinted medium! they look f@*king siiiick!
Slow progress on my car but its getting there! really need some alloys now, but cant find any in my budget :/
I sprayed my badge blacked and it looked so s**t! So when I'm getting parts of my car sprayed soon,
I'm gonna get my boot smoothed, not the handle jut the indent where the badge was
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 16 jan
Well hello again, Its been nearly half a year since I've been on this site and I've kind of missed it.
My friends recently (yesterday) bought a polo and thats what got me back into my car. Also the lack of
money hasn't got me much hyped about it either!
Well your see a small difference in the car from the pictures ie, Wheels and other things...
For the future Coil-overs are top of the list, hopefully end of jan (fingers crossed)
Enjoy the car
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 23 Jan
I was pretty hyped on doing the headliner mod to my car. I spent a long time searching for different ideas of what i
could include in my design. I found a bedsheet from Sainsbury that would fit the build. I also bought some photo
mounting spray to use as my glue to stick the bed sheet to the roof.
Once i had all the equipment i needed i started with prepping the car and taking off all the bits holding up the headliner.
Once i had all the bits out of the car i carefully pulled the headliner out through the boot exit.
I then got straight into mounting the bed sheet! it took about two hours because i took my time
because i wanted to make it look good and not to rush
Once covered i started to peace up my car again and fitted the head liner. Here are some pictures of the out come.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 25 jan
I'm back on it again with another update. When i first built my boot build i kind of left the amp under
the sub because i thought it looked better where no one could see it. It turned out o be a pain when
ever i wanted to change the settings on the amp, so i decided to move it next to the sub.
all i did was cut a whole and screwed it to the mdf
I ended up getting bored of just a plain sub so i stuck all my stickers i have been collecting.
Its not to everyones taste but i love it
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 31 Jan
All good and well last weekend. Coils came super quick like 3 days which was mad. I blaged a
friend over to help me fit them and we kept coming in to problem after problems. Eventually we
got the rear to coil overs on and they were looking like a treat!
Then we ran into problems!!!!!
This is what the car looked like before
Heres Craigbmx fitting the rear coilover
Old coilovers must go!
Then we hit the problems. During the day Craig's torque wrench broke so the nuts at the front holding
the springs to the car were to rusted that we couldnt get the nuts off. This ended up being the stance
of the car for the past couple of days
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 26 Feb
Not much has happened to the car but a lot is planned!
Here are some quick pictures from a photoshoot i had with a friend last week.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 4 May
Its been a while since i have been on here so i thought id take some new photos and upload them to the web.
As you can see the car looks a lot different. Ive had the three panels (boot lid, arch and rear bumper)
sprayed and filled in. I didn't plan on getting the boot handle smoothed as well, but the sprayer said hed
do it for a little bit extra.
Since then ive just added the bra and a few tiny bits like the stubby ariel and that.
Nothing special.
Future plans is to fix all of the problems around my car so its all in working order,
and in a couple of weeks i will re plan the boot build and build another, better enclosure.
Heres some pics;
What you think so far?

The left front window doesnt go up and down anymore, so i need to (i think) put the window back onto its rails.
Get the radio working properly
Sort out a proper height for the coils
just little bits.
Main thing is to re do the sub box in the next couple of weeks, found a new design that im really into!

I had exactly the same concern Cornishdrummer. It's good to have this thread clarify!its just the sun visors, grab handles and interior light to be taken out.
