Had a right moan at them and managed to get out of sending them the old one back (which would have cost and taken twice as long!) so they just sent it straight to me :) Can finally use the GTi again! POD - The Lovable GTi - UPDATE! Any Spray Painting Tips?

Post by KPerryGTi »

Right well been a while since I've been on, so long in fact my post was on the second page! lol

Not a lot has changes, the roof lining is now black, the shelf is near enough finished but the next port of call is the paint work! I am sorting out all scratches dent and rust etc... so its going to take me a while! luckily I have another ride to keep me going! recently purchase Subaru Justy 1.3 4WD! Awesome little thing lol! Anyway some pics/a vid...

This is the parcel shelf, it is dirty in this photo had just finished making it, all left to do is reset it to fit flush...

This is my ride for the next week (or 2, maybe 3)

ANYWAY... the main point of this is that I am doing quite a large spray job on the car, both bumpers, spoiler other little trims and scratches on roof, so anybody got any tips for this? cant really afford to pay professionals to do this but I have the space and time etc...

nope built the shelf specially, there were one or two rattles but the main one which is the only one I haven't got rid of is on the casing of the driver side wing mirror lol can only hear it with the window down

Who's painting your car mate like bumpers and roof n spoiler should be nice and fresh....! Best advice would be don't do it yourself. Especially being silver....!

Why don't you come along to the next meet and speak to Dan Chave? His prices are reasonable.
