Clap's vRS: FMIC
Clap's vRS: FMIC
After coming across this I never planned on buying it, but I have always liked them, and got offered this pretty cheap, but I assumed the insurance would be crazy on it. But I decided just to see how much it would be, turns out its not much more then what it was on my 1.0l polo
So I bought it. It needs alot doing to it, as the last owner didnt really look after it at all.
But here it is.
The headunit is currently held in place by a burgerking coupon

Very Nice Mate looks like it could do with some much needed TLC
Great Cars though the vRS

Yeah, The last owner was in the RAF, and I dont really think he had much interest in it.
I recon on bodywork alone it would cost around £1000 to get it all perfect,
But even If I do spend that, it would still have cost me less then I can sell it for, So I cant complain really
And yeah, I love it for the fact, its got good performance, yet can still get good mpg

Yeah its a nice car, they are great of fuel and if you ever want more performance then a stage 1 re-map is only £250-300
Not keen on those wheels though, did he give you the original wheels with the car too?

Re: Clap's vRS
yeah will probably get a re-map next year some time, jumping from 50bhp to 130bhp is enough for now.
and what do you mean? the wheels are lovley.... lol, i dont like them either,
but the new wheels im looking at getting are the same size, so i can use the tyres from them,
giving a guy a call on them later

Nice one Jack yeah wheels most certainly need changing at some point, although they would probably look a lot better with a set of centre caps.JackClap wrote:yeah will probably get a re-map next year some time, jumping from 50bhp to 130bhp is enough for now.

Re-Map is a great modification but as you quite rightly mentioned jumping from a 1.0 to a high performance PD130 TDI engine is a big leap so getting use to the power is a wise choice before you consider upgrading
Re: Clap's vRS
Im looking at some 17" vw wheels, which i would refurbish in a greyish colour. May even get them by next week, ill see once ive spoke to this guy later.6N2 GTI 00 wrote:Nice one Jack yeah wheels most certainly need changing at some point, although they would probably look a lot better with a set of centre caps.JackClap wrote:yeah will probably get a re-map next year some time, jumping from 50bhp to 130bhp is enough for now.

And its also the matter of insurance, Remapping would add alot to my insurance, so rather than spend more money on insurance i would rather spend it on other things.

Re: Clap's vRS
In definite need of TLC, looking forward to seeing what you do with it!
VAG OEM grey wheels sound nice, dark anthracite really suit black.

Yeah, Wont be much in terms of mods for a while, just going to get it back to a near perfect condition first.Tim_GTi wrote:In definite need of TLC, looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

And I've seen a few with VAG and they suit it quite well, also like the octavia spiders. Also I think a anthracite colour is a must for this car in black.
Also been following your thread, hopefully mine will be that clean eventually, I also end up reading your thread twice, I read here, and then again over on briskoda, aha

Re: Clap's vRS
Haha yeh there's a bit more info on my Briskoda thread, more concise on here!
Re: Clap's vRS
Decided to get the wet vac out and have a good go at the seats, always amazes me how much difference it makes, left compared to the right
And it always surprises the amount of dirt that comes out
Also got hold of some genuine xenons, they have eyebrows on, bit undecided on them. for the sake of a few quid I'll probably get them sprayed black, and see what I think of them then.
And removed the side strips.

Nice work!!
OEM Xenons are a hard find. Off a breaking vRS?
Not a massive fan of the eyebrows personally, are they permenant?

Re: Clap's vRS
Yeah came off one being broken, they are in really good condition though.
The eyebrows are just put on with adhesive tape as far as I'm aware, so they should be easy enough to get off. Ill see what they look like when they are black and then decide.
Also after doing some calling around managed to find a octavia vrs being broken which had spiders on.
So should be getting them this week aswell.

Nice!
Can you point me in the direction of the breakers you got the lights from? I'm after a light switch fascia trim for the interior and they only came on fabs with factory xenons.

Re: Clap's vRS
I got them from a place called Silverlake, But they weren't factory fitted they were retro fitted like I'm doing.
I live right next to the breakers, So I'll keep an eye out for you.
