t.small wrote:Nice job on the calipers! I gave mine a quick go a few weeks ago but only the rears, never got around to doing the front. Did you just use a wire brush to remove the flaky paint? I gave it a good go with one but couldn't get all of the paint off. Some came off real easy and other bits were pretty difficult.
I used a screw-driver as well, but on the rear ones it came off a lot easier than the front ones. With the front ones on the paint that was still stuck solid, I rubbed the edges with sand paper to feather it from where it went from paint to bare metal so the edges didn't show up when I painted over it.

Yeah that's the issue I had when I did my rear ones. Wasn't sure whether to remove all the paint, so there is a small step between existing paint and bare metal. Not visible though through the wheels really unless you have a proper inspection.
Think I'll have another go with them all again sometime in the spring.

Been slacking a bit recently with my thread! Here's some at the Players show back in September:

Cleaned up the engine bay and re-painted the rocker cover with the same paint I'd used on the brake calipers:

Thanks both! Not so easy to get half decent pics at this time of year what with less daylight hours and not so good weather etc!

Just need to get the centre caps I want at some point!

Yeah, I know, but until I find a new job after being made redundant, I can't afford anything. Don't want cheap coilovers and thinking of decent springs-say 30 or 40mm lower, but not sure if that height will work out how I want. Anyone got pics with 30 or 40mm lower?
