Ah dude that pretty harsh.

Cant believe some people have the conscience to do things like this to other peoples property. If it's pretty deep you could always try and fill the scratch with a touch up pen and build it up above the bonnets paint then cut it back in,that may disguise the depth alittle and make it look a hell of alot less harsh.

Hope you manage to sort it somehow without breaking the bank.

This makes me feel sick looking at it Joe. Feel so sorry for you. Im so glad my car isnt in the city any more. Mine got smashed up by drunken idiots. Bloody Plymboblians. If you want any help with anything you know where I am. Sire you'll sort it but it upsets me so much when things like this happen

Sorry to see that, hope you find a cost effective solution. Maybe the touch up thing, build it up, wet sand it back then clear coat pen and more sanding? finish with the DA to get rid of marring? Havent dared try it but theres a few vids on pootube, if they can be trusted... Best of luck anyhoo.

Cheers Matt, i was expecting it to be honest. Was gonna see what you were up to this weekend / tomorrow for a GTI day?

and James i may give that technique a go if the DA is unsuccessful .

That scratch is pretty nasty. Overall though, you have really gone to town on your car and looks amazing! I have always loved the black 6n2's. By the way I have pm'd you about your wheels that are for sale.

So last weekend i had a go with at least reducing the visibility of my deep key bonnet mark.

Before

Image

scratch filled with touch up pen..

Image

and after sanding back with wet 2000 and polished with mezerna cutting pad and compound i ended up with this which isen't perfect but a lot better than before!
