joe where did you get the colour touch up pen from? is it an exact colour match to the original vw paint?

Re: Joe's Gti Progress Thread
Thanks guys- it's better than it was for sure.
I got the kit from Halfords years ago. The colour match isen't perfect by it's not bad.. It's mainly the prep and after work that will give you a better finish / match.
Few more updates to report once I sort pictures!

What's your scratch look like mate? If you do buy the kit, use the included primer first via the same technique with applying the black. Helps the paint key to the bodywork better.

Re: Joe's Gti Progress Thread
its nasty. and been there a while in parts has rusted. my idea was to wet sand the worst parts to bare metal. then prime then paint with the touch up pen very much like your approach. not sure if mine is possible to save, hope so.

Re: Joe's Gti Progress Thread
If its rusted, you ideally want to treat the area with kurust before continuing.

Re: Joe's Gti Progress Thread
Ha ha! quality! Theres a youtube vid with VBH reviewing the 6n2 knocking about too, though she seems a bit scathing about the GTI being undeserving of its badge !
Nice work on the scratch too.
All the best.
