Golf front bumper

Post by tigor »

Okay, honest opinion here - is this OTT?

I don't think it is actually. It's the first car I've ever seen which I think has successfully managed to pull off a Porsche style bumper.

My opinions are usually repugnant so I'll tread carefully.

I actually like it.

So there

See I'm not that bad

Woo! Remember that (unfortunately) a numberplate will have to go on there somewhere. I can't picture what that would look like. May make it look a bit ordinary as the centre lower grille won't be so obviously smaller than the other two.

OTT IMHO

OEM is the way to go... (R32!)

I'm with Josh in preferring OEM.

And the car in question could benefit from a VW badge, it's not always that a car can look better de-badged.

I think the splitter at the bottom needs to be colour coded. It looks good, but you would need to select the rest of the mods carefully, otherwise it will look out of place.

I think I love it too but not sure if it would be spoiled having a numberplate on it. Maybe put it towards one side like Alfas?

I'm not a fan of Turbo wheels on any other car besides a Porsche but I wonder how that'd look on that car.

Karl, I've got to disagree with you I'm afraid. I think the splitter looks great in black.

Theres a lot worse out there.

I think it looks pretty good, though I reckon the R32 looks even better.

As for the number plate, i think a small bike sized plate in the middle would look quite cool.

I dont think reflex silver is doing that bumper any favours. It's one of those body mods that would be better suited to a darker car - i.e. Diamond Black or Indigo Blue.

Thing you gotta remember guys and gals is that this bumper is being marketed as a cheaper alternative to the R32 item - Which costs just over £700 OEM

Just my 2p worth
