9x15/16 on a Mk5?

Post by PoloGTi »

Can it be done? Spotted some ace wheels that I want but theyre 9x16 and I dont know if they will fit (esp on the front).

Also spotted some wheels that are 7 x 15 front and 9x 15 rear that I like too, like wise will these fit?

Anything can be made to fit, but that's not what you want to know, I guess.

Both combinations will give you grief. The 16" wheels will not fit (especially on the front) without major work. 9 inches is pretty darn wide.

The 15" combo sounds more reasonable since the front wheels should go on without incident. The rears however, are too wide. I have yet to see this size go on without some serious rubbing, rolling-of-the-arches, or both. I have trouble fitting my 7x15 ET 35 wheels at the back - I managed to rub them on a daily basis. But then, I'm fairly low and my shocks aren't very hard.
