Sorry about the crappy ascii art, if you imagine the glove compartment cross section. You have the storage lip just underneat the glove box door. On the underside there is a plastic cover, which is held in place by two screws and a catch at the back. Theres a gap (where the ***** is) between the cover and the actual underside of the passenger side glovebox, and seems to have a thin layer of some wooly material in it.

Does anyone know whats above that cover? I found its the perfect place to hide the hideaway unit for my satnav, but just worried in case its supposed to be used for something else and that the gap was intentionally left there for a reason.

Its the Ventilation motor box. Believe me I have seen that enough times taking my dash apart!

You should be able to store it there if there is room as there is no external workings hanging out or anything.

Cool! thanks for the info. It does make a perfect place for storing a hideaway unit..
