what have people done with the bolts to clean them up?

mine are all skabby in the threads with locktite i'm guessing.. is there anything i can soak them in?

thinners or even petrol does the job,

Erm white spirit!

Or just a good scrub with a wire brush dude!

i've done 1/4 of a wheel and only just removed the pitting after about 3 hours work lol.

i'll get some pics of how bad they are :lol:

what are peoples thoughts on putting rubber/metal grommets in each hole of the centre section before bolting the two sections together? to stop the powder coating cracking through over tightening.

The wheels wont sit flush at all mate, u need just silocone paste or some sealent to stop the corrosion creeping back but like wipe it in and wipe out most off it, i was told not to put anything in as it will make the wheel run untrue i rekon mate!

This is probably gonna sound really stupid... but can you still do the paint stripping with the tyres still on? if you cover the tyres and are really carefull... or is that a stupid question? lol

Paint stripper doesn't touch normally hurt rubber but you are never gonna get a good finish in the edge of the rim with the tyres on and inflated but you coukd break the bead and push the sidewall away
