Whats this worth?

Post by P8KSY »

May have a chance of buying this soon, just wondered what you guys think it may be worth.

Mk 1 Polo in white base model
Original W reg.
1 owner from new
13,000 miles
FSH all VW except last 4 years.

The car is like new inside, outside is near perfect except for some rust bubbles on the door bottoms.

Thinking about buying it, dropping it on some small wide rims and putting a period roof rack on it and doing some shows next year.

What do you guys think ?

Sounds cool - 'W' reg is 1980, mine is the same year.
How much is it? Got any pics? Any Mk1 has got to be rare and cool these days, so get it!

Buy it!!! The more MK1's owned by enthusiasts, the better!
If you don't buy it, it might end up as a cheap runabout and that's a real shame.
Yea, give it the euro look and show the plastic spoiler & 30" alloys crowd the way forwards....

Baldrimmer.....Yea, no problem - here you go mate....

The car was going to be broken up for spares, and it was in a real state. The whole interior was green with slime (was originally light brown!) and it was full of shi*. On a more positive note, it was free (!) and the bodywork wasn't bad at all.
So far, i've stripped it to bare metal, and resprayed the engine bay ready for a 1.4 16v lump when i can afford one. Hoping to finish the bodywork before winter sets in.....

It's all gone a bit flat really, people seem to be using these forums more now. I've not recieved anything from the polo list for 6 months +. So you're selling the Derby - don't do it mate. You'll only miss it. You have lots of derby bit's don't you? have you got a good chrome derby rear bumper you wish to sell? It'll go to a good home!
