Surely that depends what kind of Golf GTi it is.
And either way, I hope you're doing this on a track/private road.

The Polo GTI is about the same as the 1.8T Mk4 Golf's and will beat most Mk4 GTI's!. It won't beat the anniversary or the Mk5

Lupo GTI
978kg
125bhp
127.8bhp per ton
Polo GTI 3 door
1084kg
125bhp
120bhp per ton
Golf 1.8T GTI 3 door
1203kg
150bhp
124.68bhp per ton
Golf 2.0 GTI 3 door
1149kg
115bhp
100.08bhp per ton.
1.8T Golf would kick the Polos ass, unless the golf had air con.

The engine in the 2.0GTI is the old 2.0 8v unit so wouldn't be that heay.
It also doesnt have air con as standard unlike the Polo so the Kerb weight is less.

No
the figures you have used for everything but the Polo is after 2001 (when the way they weighed cars was changed.)
My appologises My car was weighed the new way so before the 2001 date the Polo was 1084kg
So 120bhp per ton then.

I crapped myself there!!! Seriosuly thought to myself, what the hell would be the point in having a polo GTI if it only as 100 bhp per ton! Them figures make the Polo at least look respectable!
