All curbs should be banned full stop.
I know exactly how you feel after doing my splitter, although it'll probably cost a bit more to fix

I've been lucky with my GTi to date but my last car I had a couple of nasty incidents with kurbs it just sends a nasty chill up your spine when you hear that crunch.
the thing I haven't had much luck with is Vandals!!
I've had the car keyed a few times now when I've parked in town.
I've gotten used to it now when I see a new one but it still really pisses me off.
the car just had a couple of stonechips when I got it but now it has key scratches on nearly every panel and the roof I do my best to Tcut them out but some are just too deep. you hardly notice them though after a good clean polish and wax
