This is my car at Present:

Here's the Build:

Ok alot of people have done this, and I think its quite a good way of keeping everything together and showing you all what i've done since owning the car back in April.

it started off as a nice little 5 door run around, 32k on the clock, i got a 4 wheel outer rim refurb, full service and full set of tyres all for 5500, not bad hey!

i regret not taking pictures of when i first had it, mind you i was adding my first touches to it before it was even fully insured and taxed under my name!

the red stripe on the grill went on as soon as it got on my drive.
within a week i had a full sound system install (spec below),
then over the next two weeks i had a few little other mods done;

de-badged 'polo' logo from back
ice white full beam, fog and sidelight bulbs replaced
headlight protectors
new mats, plain black VW logo on drivers side
german style metal pressed plates
stubby S2000 aerial
removed rear emblem and sprayed the backgrond black, then re-attached
de-wipered the tailgate

i then signed myself up on uk-polos.net and introduced myself! these are the pics

My sound install is as follows
Alpine Type R components in the front
Type R coaxials in the rear,
(all hidden behind the doorcards)
They all run off an Alpine V-power 4 channel MRP-F250 amp
12" sony Xlpod sub running off a 600W legacy amp
A quik pic of the boot setup below, nothing special just kept it simple.

Over the next month i got myself a bunch of cleaning products to get me started, consisted of a microfibre washing mitt, drying waffle towels, alloy sponge, a shed load of microfibre cloths for interior and exterior, a shammy, AG water wax, rubber rapair and shampoo and condish, and a waterblade (only used for windows!)
Image

Got a set of aero wipers from wiperbladdes.co.uk
Image

I purchased a set of VW centre caps to replace the old weathered ones
Image

And jacked up my car and re-painted all 4 calipers with halfords caliper paint.

In July(i think), i had the 5 rear windows tinted, in a medium grade. Was planning on getting the front side two done in a light grade too but du to the heavy clamp down around here for front tinted windows i decided against it. Regretted that decision ever since!! going back after i've sorted some other stuff out to get them done, to escape the 'van' look!

Lastmonth (or so) i received my uk-polos.net sticker!!

its in the bottom left hand corner of m rear windscreen
Image

and after much messing about, got hold of a euro style stubby drivers side mirror for eBay.de

Here it is, in the middle of being sprayed. Was having some problems but thanks to Andy (vdubit), i'm back on track!
Image
Image

I also purchased this lot!

Aerial base repair kit
Image

Drivers and passenger side grab handles with drivers side insert
Image

Audi TT pedals

All will be put on soon, just waiting to finish off the mirror, dont wanna keep having to take the doorcards on and off!!
Also at the same time i'll shorten the doorpins, already done the rears

www.vagparts.com, go on the search and type in '6n2', it should be the first item that pops up, about £12

i found it after i'd palced an order, and ordered them seperatley so they cost more :(
you need the black ones.

sounds good! (about the DIY guide), thats probably when i'd be looking to purchase some 8)

Care to explain how you did the door pins mate? That is a great wee touch! Chopped off the excess from the bottom of the thread at a guess?

@Si: there's a tutorial on this in the DIY section

http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... hp?t=32651

I was gunna take them from the bottom, but found it much more time consuming so just snipped the top! I didnt glue them though, there sit just fine on there own without any adhesive!

@Danny: there bout £12 for a set on one side, go o vagparts.com, and search '6N2', it should be the first item that pops up
