my boot light keeps coming on, on my dashboard and it is really annoying
me and my m8 had a quick look around in a car park in the dark and couldnt find anything but obviously wasnt the best of looks.

any ideas what it could be?

or have any of you had the problem b4?

Loose hose for rear window washer caused that in my car. The lock got wet. V. common

i got the same problem as well as the boot light doesn't come on when you open boot bit annoying when your looking for something in the boot
new lock?

i meant the boot light on the dashboard, telling me that i haven't shut my boot when i actaully have

need the tailgate stripping down and hose reconected .
you might just wanna clean the wire counecters too use either wd40 or a contact cleaner
on the unlucky side you might need the termals replacing as they have a tendancy of breaking when they been corroded for a while and you my need a new boot lock

this is commen on the full vw range ive repaird 2 just today normaly caused by trying the washer jet when the jet is frozen the preasure builds up and pop gos the pipe

other commen places on a polo is just behind the abs pump

the genuine vw repair procedure is the connecters cut off the pipe ends and rejoined with small bore rubber pipe and secured with crimp clips

thanks for your help evry1. i wil give it a better look at 2morow when it isnt pouring down with rain, hopefully.

also when you got rid of your rear wiper did you just fill it in with a bung?

Used a 50p grommet from halfords, and applied silicone sealant around the edge on the inside

You will probably have to replaced the switch. Mine is knackered again, happened the exact same time last year :roll:

you dont have to replace the full boot lock.. t6here is a little switch in their you can get them from about £2 form the scrapper they were alot more a vw...
