Pipe's come loose on right side of engine spitting oil

Post by cs94njw »

Hi All,

Polo 1.4 16v 2000

I noticed that my car was dripping oil I opened the bonnet and a pipe/tube is hanging in mid-air, on the right hand side of engine. It's short, and the head of it is about 1 inch (3cms) long, with a diameter of about 1cm.

It looks like it's been spitting little bits of oil all over that area, and that oil's been dripping to the floor.

I've looked in Haynes but I can't identify what the tube is, and where it's meant to be plugged into.

Does anyone know? I've found a socket on the underside of the top of the engine on the right, but I've no idea if this tube is meant to fit there or not.

If anyone can help, I'd be really grateful :(

Cheers,

Nicholas
