So you've just got some new mats, look lovely don't they!

Then some idiot sits in the back....

I got fed up after this happened the 12th time in a week, so took a trip down to VW to look at some mat fixings.

These are the ones I decided to go with: (all part numbers at bottom of page)

The anchors on these screw directly into the carpet, which then pop into the mat fixing.

There's also some twist fixings which you can purchase:

I have a spare set of these, anchors and fixings, so if you want them PM me or click on the link at the bottom.

Tools for the job:

plus a pen knife.

It's extremly straight forward, i'll let the pictures do the talking.

I found it easiest to cut holes in the mats first, make sure they lined up with each other, then used them as markers for the anchors.

PART NUMBERS:

For some reason these don't come with the part number on them :?, they're extremely common though.

Hope this helps someone.

Yeh i can't believe it wasn't an OEM thing.

Either that or the bottoms of the mats should've been made of grippier material.
