Dan's Progress Thread :D

Post by DanOliver »

Well I have finally decided to start a lil progress thread. Made a few changes recently and thought it was about time to show them off :D

So firstly, the car as purchased...
Image

First thing I added was Central Locking, followed by the Gti Grill and some crappy "xenon effect" headlight and sidelight bulbs. Also fitted my Sony headunit and FliTrap 800w Sub :)

The Gti Grill...

I then purchased my Alarm and with the help of AlexPerkins, got that fitted and working. Sprayed the tweeters and grab handles.

My new Kickass flip-up keys...

My sprayed Tweeters...

Then got a Rear black badge, my old front badge and sent them off to Elliott for spraying. Also, De-wipered the rear windscreen, which I think looks really nice.

My new Black front badge...

The old broken rear badge...

The new Colour coded, Black rear badge...

Hopefully some more updates to follow soon, but nothing major until I have some more money :(

Yea, I might crack on today and have a go at getting the 'polo' badge off. Hopefully its as easy as the VW was, which I managed to just peel off with my hands :/

Looking good mate! I think the rear would look better colour coded with the silver emblem though

Really? I Personally think the black looks quite cool. It just looks a bit out of place with the silver 'polo' badge there at the moment. But that will be sorted soon :P

Looking good so far. Polo badge is a peice of cake. I used hot water / credit card & WD40. Took 10 mins.

Have you thought about changing the lower grills to match the Honeycomb.

I do plan to do the grills yes, I'm just waiting until I have some money to get the fog lights first.

WD-40?? lol, that actually work? I had methylated spirits on my vw badge and that just about got the sticky crap off.

WD40 also great for getting stains like grease out of clothes. Just spray it on before it goes in the wash and let it do its magic. Will remove anything sticky too.

I haven't no, I was thinking of restoring them with some bumper care or spraying them black.

I wouldn't ever remove them as I personally don't think they ruin the look of the car but I am sure others will disagree :/
