it looks like I would need a need a new carb.
After running over twenty miles the engine simply went off in a curve in first gear and didn't start anymore. Sometimes, it sounds like it wanted to start but the engine never runs longer than a second.
Spark plugs and distributor cap have been changed. All four spark plugs fire, so HT leads and coil seem to be OK. Fuel is coming constantly (fuel pump changed two years ago).
What else can be wrong with a such a simple car? Is there resting the carb only?
What types of carbs would fit this Polo and where could I get them? Local scrap yards don't have Polos that ancient.
A search on ebay doesn't give exact results for my engine size or code. But maybe a similar or later model carb would do it, too?
