My 2002 very basic 1.2 litre Polo E has been totally trouble free so far, but the day must come sooner or later when something goes wrong. When it happens, how do I get the engine cover off?

Check the engine code first, some are different. But for my 1.2 2003 9n

Its just a case of giving it a big pull, starting at the back of the cover is the easiest way i think.
It has like rubber grips which keep it on, once its off those there are two hoses to disconnect and your away.

Bit scary the first time you do it.

Again, check this it right for your engine before following my advice!

Mine was in a Haynes manual I bought, You could try local dealership parts dept. They can probably get it from there parts system.
