6n 8v exhaust change

hey guys, has any one had problems with the front silencer of the mk4 polo 98 model?? i went to my local CES dealer and gave me a front silencer no probs so far. come to fitting it, i notcied that their was a pip that covered over the cat pipe and the front silencer pipe am i to assume that u remove this over pipe and the new silencer fits over the cat pipe??? also I was thinking of putting a performance system on, and would it be a full system i.e from manifold to back box?? so if any one has any ideas on witch is the cheapest but easy to fit sounds good reliable and a FULL system let me know.
