hey ill try answer a few of ur questions

yes a coilover kit is prob best as you can vary height and settle to what you want
nothing else is needed

a strut brace does help with handling as such
as it stiffens the car up, you can get front and rear ones, so ur choice again

as for the bolts, i imagine tht they would fit, just i dunnoif they would screw right in, depending on length
why are you asking about the bolts anyway?

Mmm, why are you asking about longer bolts?

Certainly don't fit them without spacers, especially on the rear if you have drum brakes as they can mangle up your brake shoes and fittings!

also worth mentioning you will need the tracking doing after you lower it, and probably the camber too, so budget for that. whole lot should cost £50. coilovers are great for the adjustability, but if youre after performance you get more bang for buck out of a quality spring and damper set, if you can live with the fixed ride height :)

I wouldn't recommend using the extended bolts without the spaces mate as you'll go straight into your drums on the rear. If that's all you've got just cut a few threads off each of them using a hack saw, make sure they're all the same length n then gently roll your car forward n backward with the window down n listen for any bolt in brake drum mangling noise

...or just get some spacers, depending on what wheels you're running

About going low; I got some cheap coilovers off Ebay £170 n they're great. Try get some that go up to 120mm n you'll have loads of adjustment to play with. Handling is great for the money n can't complain about the ride!

im not sure if want to adjust them but i have a month to think about that.

and i was asking about the extended bolts as i have just fitted some new bk racing alloys and when i lower i was gunna put some spacers on the back.
i need new locking wheel nuts, 2 normal size and 2 extended so i thought if i fitted extended bolts to the front wheels they might just fit, on ebay they only come in packs of 20 which is ridiculous, just gunna have to pay a fair bit sp that i dont nacker owt up round the brakes

i need just 6 extended bolts, 2 extended locking bolts, the 6 normal bolts and 2 normal locking wheel bolts sounds confusing but i understand!

If it's a mk4 6n Polo the bolts you need are a set of 16 as your wheels should be 4 stud. The sets of 20 are for 5 stud cars. My mate managed to get a set of 8 extended bolts off Ebay for his '97 mk3 Golf as he was just using spacers on the rear, he just used his standard bolts on the front. He didn't pay a lot for his at all and they're the exact same size as the ones used for a 6n!

I meant that on ebay i could only buy them as a set of 20 i dont need 20,
so he doesnt having any locking bolts on his car?
i just dont want no-one robbing mi wheels, i might jus lock the front ones then or is that just risky still for the rear ones?

There's several sets of 16 on Ebay mate, the sets of 20 are probably the wrong size anyway. You need 12x1.5 thread size, Don't get 12x1.25 or anything else as they wont fit.
What about these:

I just searched extended wheel bolts.

Nah he doesn't have locking nuts he's just running standard VW Orlando alloys on his mk3. Ask one of the sellers on Ebay as most of them are the online stores for wheel and tire fitters. It's probably worth emailing them as one of them is bound to be able to get you some or know where you can get hold of some!
