cam belt

Post by vince »

Now I know it's been asked before so sorry about this . My local steeler has quoted £299 for a belt and tensionor and £399 with the water pump  . Now does this seem a lot or quite fair , I dont really have the time for this job myself so I'm looking for other options , any help on this would be most helpful

Yup. Thats exactly what they charge over here in S.Wales.

Needless to say, I'm still saving up for this...

I was quoted a similar price by my local dealers earlier in the year.

As kc has suggested, might be a good idea to try and find a local VW specialist. They'd probably do a better job if your stealer is anything like mine...
