how big is the difference between these and the old ones. as you know, i am very interested in buying a set.

did you just order this set ? http://porschecalipers.co.uk/uk/81/prod ... pers_.html
or did you order something else besides this ? (not speaking of the 312mm disk)

Edit:

Ignore me. Boxster S rear calipers are completely unsuitable for this conversion. Please dont rely on this brake setup from a high speed. It might look great, but will not stop your car from a high speed.

Car looks awesome mate, I want to put mud flaps on mine to but was told they won't fit. Did you use VW genuine, from the photos they look like they are. Or are they aftermarket? Don't suppose you know the VW part numbers do you please? I am after both front & rear. Yours is the only Gti i have seen them on. Cheers man.

Can you tell me the VW part number for the mudflaps you have used on your GTi please. Are they the genuine vw ones? I was told these do not fit. Cheers

The mudflaps are genuine vw ones! I had them from an old polo so dont know the part numbers sorry! The rears fit perfect but you need to cut a V section on the fronts to get them to fit over the skirts!

As for the breaks, i have to disagree with you! At stopping from 120mph it was perfectly safe as i am still here to prove this :)

Are you certain they are Boxster S rears? And just because people fit them, doesnt mean its right or safe. You know my opinions on this Scotty, and i nearly made this mistake myself. But im glad im now going for Boxster front calipers with 36/40mm pistons, instead of 28/30mm pistons as on the Boxster S rear calipers.

In fact, those are definitely front calipers. The person fitting them has forgot to reverse the lines (you dont need to do this with Boxster S rears). You are supposed to put the line that is at the top on the bottom, and put the bleed nipple at the top. So he has probably used the correct calipers, but its still a fail, as you cant bleed calipers with the nipple on the bottom. Air travels up.

Its been a while since i up-dated the thread..

I have bought a new Samco TIP hose, need to get this fitted during the week!

I also have a Milltek exhaust hidden in the garage that i must fit!

And i think i may have found a set of wheels :)

We tried the Montreal's off my old polo on, and i'm well happy with the out come...

managed to fit mine as well, but i had to fit spacers for the OEM wheels.
the only thing i didn't really understand is why the brake pad doesn't touch the whole disk.
i have about 1.5 cm in the center which isn't touched by the pad.
