Hi all,
Ive been a member for a few years now, it all started when I got my 1.8t GTI 3 years ago. I then sold that and went across to a BMW 135i but now I've decided I want to buy a house to rent out so need to sell the BMW to release some funds.
Now I've looked at all sorts and was pretty set on a cooper s but couldn't do it and found myself back at a polo.
I have a couple questions to ask as Ive been away from this scene for a while..
What sort of mpg are you looking at on a run at 80mph ish with a FMIC, exhaust and a map?
What sort of milage should the cam belt be done around? 60k or more?
What sort of milage do the turbos start so show signs of tiredness?
Same for clutches?
Is the market for these cars still as big as it used to be and the forum still an active place?
Do some decent used parts come up for sale still as it went a but stale when I was selling up?
Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.
Heres a pic of my old one if anyone is interested
I may be returning
Re: I may be returning

Re: I may be returning
It is, though the 9n3 and older sections are becoming quieter now as the 6R and 6C is where the primary market share is these days
To answer your questions
Around 40-45mpg on a Stage 1
40-60k for cambelt or 3-4 years
Normally theyll get past 150000 with no issues. Very much depends how hard they are pushed
