All6R.Emergency Brake Flashing (Brake light) active.(TESTED)

Post by ciclo »

This feature only can be enabled for first year of production of Polo 6R.

The solution to get this feature on Polo 6R (since Nov 09) is to run a wire from T4e/1 brake switch connector (splicing to the existing wire) to BCM white connector T73b/42 (check before if your BCM has this pin).

Brake switch connector is beside the brake master cylinder (engine bay).

Also you must activate Byte 12 bit4 on BCM, Address 09 Cent. Elect.

... if you do it please tell us your results.

I found that my daughter's late 2009 Ibiza 6J has this enabled and with the "Turn Signals Flashing" when I was checking the (6R0) BCM coding!
I'm surprised that any wiring changes are needed for this to be activated in Polo 6R - just goes to show that when dealing in large numbers of cars being built, VAG did not just have a few common wiring harnesses (across the marques - Fabia, Polo, Ibiza, A1) to drive costs down.

I think this issue is related to the location of the brake switch. Before it was located on the brake pedal and now is beside the brake master cylinder.
Perhaps this wire was removed on models with the brake switch beside the brake master cylinder due to eliminate production costs, but the BCM remains the same, in any case the ABS module is connected via CAN bus and with a software update from the factory this feature also be possible without wire. Before and now.

And your brake lights? (as shown in the video)
From what year is your Polo?

If you look carefully at the video the brake lights flash before the car stops, and after when the car is stopped hazard lights (turn signals) begin to work.

This feature can anticipate braking rear car driver.

Ok, thanks for the info.
In any case, if someone tries to enable this feature and is "rejected" in the VCDS program already knows what to do to enable it.

Is there any info on how to do this and the blinkers on a 6C? Enabled something relevant from adaptations with a 14.10 cable but the car doesn't turn on the blinkers after emergency braking

Perhaps Doc_House can help you in this matter for the 6C.

Oh I haven't seen his post. I haven't checked if the brake lights are flashing or not so it might be already enabled as Doc_House posted, I just know that the blinkers don't work after braking. I'll wait for his response and see what I can do then, also I'll check the brake lights in the meantime
