VW Racing Air Filter

Post by hanby42 »

Hi,

I've just got a 2016 GTI and seen this filter:

https://vwpartsinternational.com/shop/e ... -shipping/

Has anyone got one on theirs or got any feedback about it? I tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything!

Cheers!

i havnt had any experience with these ones, but i cant imagine you going to see any great gains or a noticeable amount of extra noise.

Revo have just released something similar, a little more expensive but also comes with a silicone air box to throttle body pipe. bit over priced if you ask me.

i would suggest, if your competent with tools, to make your own. inbox me if you need details

Thanks Ray!

Only problem is I've got a lease car through work so really have to keep it standard unfortunately! Might just try Revo's panel filter.

Cheers

I have the Pipercross filter fitted and i've been really impressed with it's performance. Quality was good and it fitted perfectly. It's much cheaper than the VW Racing filter, so it could be a good alternative for you.
I think the part number was PP1922 :D

Yeah I've been looking at that as well. Any noticeable difference in induction noise or not?

Not really but that's because it's still in the enclosed standard airbox. Maybe a slight increase in 'turbo' noise haha :)

Honest! Aw fair enough then, I'm proper itching to modify it but being a works car can't do anything that isn't obvious or easily put back to standard should anything happen lol! It's killing me

I'm in the same boat. I've put a window sticker on it and I have some yellow film i'm going to put on the fog lights. Apart from that, the fact it's a lease car makes it difficult! :?
