Good Evening All,
I was just wondering if anyone would be able to shed any light on an issue I encountered today whilst driving home!
I did notice yesterday that my Polo was making a whooshing sound when accelerating but power was not affected, or so little that I didn't notice!
When I was driving home today, I felt that the power was not as good as it usually is and as I was listening and accelerating then taking my foot off the pedal, the whooshing suddenly stopped along with a distinct lack of power.
The engine sounds sweet enough and there have been no other foreign noises from the engine when the lack of power occurred!!
Anyone got any ideas as to what it may be?
Thanks for you help in advance.

Gosh, only just joined, don't own a Polo and I might actually be able to help!
Check the hoses from the Turbo to the intercooler (if it has one) and intercooler to engine (basically check all the hoses connected to the turbo and inlet).
You've probably got a split in the hose letting all that lovely compressed air out.
Lots of gaffer tape for a temporary fix but a new hose probably required.
Good luck!
Graham

Hi Graham,
Thank you for your reply - you are also spot on with your diagnosis!!!
I was getting an 17964 charge pressure control error. I checked the hoses and found a decent split in one of them...
Taped it up with some zip ties to test and deffo points to the split.
Will order a replacement asap!!!
Thanks for your help!
