polo 2011 passenger airbag ON/OFF HELP PLEASE

hi there i have a vw polo moda 2011, i wanted to turn the passenger airbag off so i could put the babys carseat in the front but when i opened the glove box there was no switch to do this apparently this switch is a optional extra, i have contacted VW dealership they told me they could turn it off at the dealership but wasnt able to give me the option of turning it back on when carrying adult passengers, can anyone tell me if its possible to overcome this problem by sourcing and fitting a glovebox switch and maybe changing the airbag module?? is this possible or does anyone know of another way to solve this?? many thanks Jon
