Heater control problem HELP

Hi all I'm new to this
I've had my polo years and think it's great
I've had to change the heater control unit
Whilst doing so the direction rod that changes the vent choice has fallen out and I can't find where this goes back into. I've been looking for ages so any help is greatly received
