1996 Door Mirror Help

Hi folks, newbie here.
Happy New Year to you all

I have a 1996 1.0 Polo, and i’ve got a problem in that I’ve damaged my l/h passenger mirror.
The main shell (green painted part) is ok but the inner bit with the mirror on is broken, and the black part that fixes to the door is broken.
Does anybody know how to remove the black part that fixes to the door?
I’m assuming this may involve removing the door card, so hints and tips on that would also be helpful.
Also, is it possible to separate the green painted shell from the part that fixes to the door?
Mirrors are electric.

Doorcard needs to be removed to release the connector

Yes you can pull it off
Just wiggle it a bit whilst pulling towards yourself

But it is much like the 6N
