I'm looking for a car reader, just not sure where to start, what interface do I need. OBD2. Im after one were I can edit lthe car like I did using vcds. Around the £80-100 mark, I will be using on my 2021-22 polo also a 2020-21 vw transporter van.

Also after looking on the forum I've gone for a key fob tweak, got a gti top crome 5G0959893DFOD, also got a key fob boot 000087012AL GCA, from main dealer £25 total for the 1 key.

I own vcds lite version, when I asked them when I got my 2016 polo, they wanted silly money, and was going to get the OBDII pro. But will reask on vcds see what they say now, as it's been years since then?

Also from my cars code LC9AL is my colour code, - the L's?

Colorcodes have 4 digits

LC9A is pure white

I’ve seen VW’s Pure White paint with codes of LC9A, C9A, 0Q and 0Q0Q - I think all are correct, although the ‘official’ VW paint code for pure white - e.g. when buying touch up paint at a VW dealer - seems to usually be LC9A.

I think that historically, some VW paint colours have been shared with Audi. Maybe when this happens, VW and Audi have their own specific / different paint codes for the same colour?

This seller of Pure White touch up paint on eBay at the link below is describing it as ‘Audi / VW LC9A Pure White car touch up paint / C9A / all in one’ (so no lacquer / clear coat required). Both codes LC9A and C9A have been given.

I bought my Pure White touch up paint off eBay. It’s not VW branded but the colour match is 100% accurate. Can’t remember how much it cost as I bought it over three years ago, but it was cheaper than the VW branded equivalent at the time. It was supplied in a ‘pen’ with a hollow nib applicator at the end of the screw on cap for precision paint application into small paint chips - IMHO so much easier to use than using the usual over-sized brush attached to the inside of the cap (it also had a brush - but a fine, thin bristled brush - inside the cap).

Correct L stands for Lack (German for paint)
All VAG paint colors/colours start with L
