I've got a 57 reg polo & took my mirror cover off recently to inspect the indicator bulb as it wasnt working, & even though i havent done it before it came off quite easily as i used a couple of thin flat bladed screw drivers & worked the cover off gently. Its just held on by quite a few moulded ...
