urgently need people,

Just got some quotes for a gearbox to be recondtioned, cheapest is 350 with 150 for taking gearbox out and putting it back in again,

Any cheaper places peeps?

cheers for all the help, found out although there was a linkage siezed in gear 5, gearbox is gone,

Any help in getting a new one would be great

Bad news, i need a new gearbox or reconditioned or something lol, found out that its my gearbox has gone, the synchro mesh or summat and it would be cheaper to change gearbox,

thanks for the reponse,

the 1st or 2nd gear is normally a linkage issue, when i took it to the dealers JCT 600, specialist wasnt sure what it was neither as 3rd gear doesnt normally go

Another Mechanic hinted it might be the synchro mesh?

Any other ideas will be helpful,

Driving my polo 6n2 1.4tdi a lot up and down the motorway, been having problems getting it into 3rd gear,

I can get into 3rd gear if i put the gear into second and then 3rd but if i switch from 5th to 3rd it wont go in,

It going to be expensive if i have to replace gearbox....fifth is ...

Just wanted to ask do you know what you paid to get it remapped, as a lot of places vary, and finding a good deal is worth asking for...

so far, found a quote for 200, that was at custom tuning, i also found a quote for 175 but that was the place that had the audi with the bad review so didn twant ...
