Re: Is It Mapped Already?
Revo basically bricked a couple of vRS ECU's at Harewood House VW show a few years ago with their 5 hour trial - when the trial expired the cars ran VERY rough. I won't be using them if the car isn't mapped!!!

Re: What things can VAG COM do?
In my experience with other VAGs the VAG-COM is pretty much the only one I'd risk plugging onto my car.

Is It Mapped Already?
I've had my GTi for a little while now and it's than I expected it to be. After seeing off a few reasonably nippy cars of late it's got me wondering if it's already mapped - is there an easy way to tell without a dyno session? Will VAG-COM tell me if I know where to look?

Re: Fiddling With VAG-COM
VAG-COM's certainly been about for at least six years, as I used it once on my vRS many moons ago. The versionb my mate has upgraded itself before we used it, so there abviously are online updates but whether they work forever or just for a year or major new version I wouldn't like to guess.

Workshop Manual
Hi Guys,
My 56 Polo GTi is out of warranty now so I'm going to be servicing it myself (not least so I know it's been done properly). Is there a proper workshop manual doing the rounds anywhere or do you all make do with the Haynes book (assuming it covers the GTi)?

Fiddling With VAG-COM
The whole 'fourteen presses to get in the car' thing has been irritating me a lot of late, so I popped up to see a mate yesterday to have a fiddlewith his VAG-COM. Fantastic piece of kit. Tested pretty much everything, full diagnostics and I've now got a revolutionary new feature: When i tell the ...

If you go on full grandad mode you can get mid-40's.
Nice to know a remap (JBS are offering map, panel filter and recirc valve for about £300 - sound ok?) won't end up costing too much in fuel.

Re: RCD200 "SAFE "LEARN" "1000"
You don't. I had exactly the same thing on mine. After a few days (not sure if it is car on-off cycles or radio itself) it seemed to work out where it was & all's well.

9n Radio Code
Hi All,
I have a 9n GTi and the fuse for the radio was removed by a garage (they meant to get the headlamp washers after all the cold froze them and the fuse blew).
I always belived that the HU was coded to the car's wiring loom in modern VAGs and didn't need a code - but it looks like it DOES ...

Thread from the dead, I know, but Audi TT 312's would likely go straight on.

Hi all, spotted a link to this place from Club GTi, which seems pretty thin on Polo GTi owners.
I've had my 56 plater for about 6 months & am quite enjoying it - used to own a Fabia vRS amongst other things, so I'm not new to the VAG camp but this is my first 'proper' VW.
