Re: Front Wipers have moved position

Took the motor out and dismantled it. The sweep postition contacts were covered with Grease from the pinion screw. Cleaned it up, popped it back in and all good again.. Cheers All

Also cleaned out the crap under the motor, was like compost so no water could drain away - How it hasnt rotted away is ...

Re: Front Wipers have moved position

I have a VAGCOM/VCDS, so may pop it on tomorrow to see if there are any faults. Never even thought of that - Doh!

The only thing that has been done to the car recently was to fit an aftermarket stereo,, but can't imagine for a moment that this has caused any issues.

Re: Front Wipers have moved position

Surely its just that the wiper arms need repositioning, i had the same problem except my wipers were hitting the a pillar, they can go out of adjustment when they are obstructed for example if snow is on the windscreen.

Yep, I thought this to,

But, if i reposition the wipers to the correct ...

Re: Front Wipers have moved position

as above,

So I removed the wipers and re-positioned them to where the park position "should be" - But then they wont swipe the full screen and on the return to the bottom of the screen, they hit the lower trim.

So it appears that the motor has "forgotten" where to park the wipers.

Has no-one had ...

Front Wipers have moved position

Our Polo 9n has just decided to have both front wipers sit about 5inch's higgher than they should do, when in the park position.

I cant think that they have moved position, well not both at the same rate anyway.

I can gently push them back down to the park position, but they will both come back ...

Polo 9n, Switched Ignition sense for stereo

Hi,

Quick question.

When installing a stereo to the 9n do you need to take a seperate switched ignition power from somewhere else, or is it all in the wiring ?

On a 04 plate Golf I had, I needed to run a power feed to a switched ignition.

Ta muchly :)

Rear wiper assembly - 9n

The rear wiper assembly on our Polo 9n '52 plate is leaking water when using the rear washer. It seems the part that the water runs through has corroded.

Does anyone have a rear motor assembly or the part that allows the water to travel through ? (so it doesnt matter if the motor is broken, as I ...

Re: 3dr Front driver seat wont fold forward

Fixed it :)

Took about 10 minutes and two tie wraps.

There is a silly bit of Plastic that secures the cables to the seat frame. This obviously snapped the bottom part of it as the 20p restricted the release mech from opening. Seat cover front and back come off very easily, just unclip from the ...

3dr Front driver seat wont fold forward

The lads Polo 3 door 9n front seat won't fold forward now (latest thing to go worong :( ).

Just wondered if it was a common failure and if it is an easy fix. It seems that the release handle that would fold it forward is just "loose" now as if a cable has broken or unclipped.

Any idease/help ...

Polo 9N reverse light switch

The reverse lights arent working.

Bulbs are Ok as is the Fuse.

The next thing to check is the Reverse switch - Has anyone got a "good" picture/diagram of where I can find the switch please. Is it a 10 minute check/swap or a pain in the 'arris ?
