Re: Anyone else had a mechatronics failure?

I think this is a bit different mate, the car will not select any odd gears whatsoever, it will only use the even gears and reverse. It is still perfectly drivable in the even gears with no loss of power etc. By all analysis from what myself and the VW techs can figure out, the symnptoms point to th...

Anyone else had a mechatronics failure?

Hi all, So, I organised a cruise for some of the locals here in Oz through the Victorian high country on Saturday. All was peachy until 15 minutes in, I suddenly lost all my odd gears, had a check engine light and an intermittent flashing spanner in the selected gear display. I am awaiting a proper ...

Polo 6R OEM Bi- Xenon

They're easy enough to retro fit, so long as you can justify an extra 1500 quid potentially after buying the car, if you don't want to fit them yourself...

Re: 6R Polo GTI hybrid WMI project

Yep, Harding performance are APR Australia.

Not sure the caper though but you might actually have to run APR ecu tuning also for them to do it..... Plus they now have upgraded clutch packs for the DSG too so I'm not sure what the go is.... Maybe it needs doing as a whole package.

6R Polo GTI hybrid WMI project

Not APR Australia. 7spd DSG mappin is now available for around $915 AUD. It's a full software program that does some of the following: 1st gear will now change up at a higher rpm to stop engine labour and to help stop clutch slip. 2nd also increased. D mode is also a bit more spritely. S is made les...

RIGID COLLARS???

You will have felt it, you just don't know it. :) If they are like others I have encountered, they replace the rear subframe bushes with these solid collars. An annoying side effect though is that if your car was built crap with poor front alignment to begin with then fixing these kind of things tha...

Springs

Ones matched with dampers. The VWR springs Re supposedly matched to the factory damper rates so they should be good. Try and find the supplier to VWR though, you will get them much cheaper if they aren't painted bright blue.... Like their intakes.....

Re: New GTI Problems?

Stupid question warning! If people have so many problems with the same dealer, why do they not go to another dealership? I have had a couple of little warranty issues (front left door striker loose causing rattles, wrong software in ECU, overhead light faulty on 'door' setting, dribbly rear window w...

Wing mirror cover

You need to remove the mirror glass to start with by GENTLY prising it off with a trim removal wedge along the top of the glass. To make this easier, push the bottom of the mirror glass in as far as it will go. The glass will just pop off. Once the glass is removed, you will see 2 locking lugs above...

Re: AUTOMATIC BOOT OPENING

If you press and hold the button, instead of just unlocking, it unlatches the hatch. If you have the correct required geometry of the struts and strut balls, it will automatically open, otherwise the secondary stage of the latch will re-engage as the motor spins back. The little black things aren't ...

Re: Little advice for tuning my beloved polo?

FIrst off, DNA tuning have had a tune on offer for nigh on 2 years now for the 1.2tsi motor which a few aussie people are running, as well as ABT. You will be looking at a total of around 100kw total power after a tune, vs 77 from factory. Second, the increase in handling and braking performance wil...
