Hazards come on after braking?
Very early versions of the 6r had the ability to turn them off, with the ecu updates I have not been able to find the measuring block to alter this setting anymore. They should actually come on WHILE you are braking hard to alert fellow road users that you are indeed braking hard, they should not ha...

Re: Using Oil!
That regime will do nothing unless you get an engine that is built properley, like seemingly mine and Kawabanga's. Mine has now got 24,000kms on it, I just drove it hard for the first 200kms, changed the oil at 6000kms and aside from that oil change, i've only put 3 litres of oil in it. All this spe...

Using Oil!
Mine has now consumed 3litres in 23000 kms (14300miles). In a mix o highway, cross country, city, high speed and spirited mountain driving I think the excuse of "how it's driven" is fairly redundant. As I have said before, it's just poor manufacturing, nothing more.

Re: 2010 Polo Questions
1) The door speakers are held in with pop rivets. Once you have the door card off, you have to drill out the rivets and either fabricate some kind of ounting system or look for Mk4 Golf/9N Polo adaptors for the speakers. In regards to the wiring, I have not looked in depth enough on the 6R to give y...

Re: Using Oil!
Just got off the phone with VW Customer Care and they said there will be a fix issued in the next 2 weeks :D Yep, there is a fix. It's called the phasing out of the 1.4 twincharged engine and replacement with a whole new engine. Mate, Believe it when you see it and it works, they have had nigh on 9...

Re: Darrens GTi
Mweh, I certainly take the 2.0 TSI over the problematic 1.4 TSI. But it's indeed a lot of money! :P The 2.0TSI isn't that much more reliable, they suffer from many of the same issues as the 1.4 TSI I personally know of 2 Mk5 GTI's (same motor as ED35, Golf R, Scirrocco R) that drink more oil than m...

Re: Using Oil!
Also they said that absolutely no money are due to oil refill, they will be done for free in all VW workshops... I really like this comment because the Castrol rubbish they specify burns off easier than the 2 oils I have tried (Liqui Moly TopTech 4200 and Shell Helix Ultra) and it seems to become d...

Kevinctr, if you want, shoot me a pm with your email address, I'll send you a copy of the gearbox manual if you like, might tell you how to refill it accurately etc.

Re: Sub woofer power cable help!!
surely there is one of the headunit wires that could be used as the remote, that becomes live when the rcd unit is turned on, then goes dead when turned off....

Handling!
Hmmm, interesting opinions being expressed here because 4 out of the 4 suspension engineers at work reckon that the stock suspension on my GTI is pretty bloody good and having travelled at speeds over 200kph in my GTI a fair few times, I am yet to find the rebound stroke making the car flighty, aggr...

Sub woofer power cable help!!
Oh no, not scotch locks! Aside from the old twisting of wires and then wrapping in electrical tape, while easy, they have to be the most rudimentary of electrical connectors out there! We spec them at work and I hate them, though to be honest, I am yet to see one fail...

Climatronic Diagnostic Mode
Not on the 6r climatronic my friend because it is independent entirely of the other systems in the vehicle. Sucks I know, but would you really want to be looking at the screen for diagnostics stuff in the position it is in...?
