Re: Polo 1.2 TSI Turbo model

I believe the turbo on the 1.2 TSI is an integral part of the exhaust manifold, so first of all you might be struggling to physically get it to fit to your Honda engine... ;) Another thing to consider is that it has an electronically controlled wastegate instead of a conventional vacuum-controlled o...

Re: New here, Looking for suggestions for 6r

First of all, welcome to the forum. :D I think those dark arches and door bottoms work quite well, creating a kind of CrossPolo look. That way it doesn't even cry for lowering. Personally I find the stripes going over the car a bit too bold and cliché. Have you considered stripes set further apart a...

Re: New(ish) Member. 1.4

Congrats on the new car! Candy white FTW. :D According to http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99784 the Pescara's offset is 51 and the wheel is only 7" wide. I believe the thinnest pcd adaptors are 20mm (CMIIW), so that would produce an 'effective' offset of 31mm. With an offset of 3...

Re: New member - 2011 Polo 1.2 TSI

I changed to winter tyres today. Probably a couple of weeks before the first snow up here, but now there's no need to worry so much about black ice in the mornings/evenings. More picture pollution... http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee394/juha_tm/VW%20Polo/vaaksy_1.jpg http://i1225.photobucket.co...

Meet the Hybrid: http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee394/juha_tm/VW%20Polo/keskikuppi_hybridi.jpg The operation was a success, the height of the cap now perfect for my needs. Re: New member - 2011 Polo 1.2 TSI

Winter alloy centre caps, Plan B. As I mentioned earlier, I bought cheap 16" Boavista lookalikes to use as my winter alloys. While the wheel itself is moderately OEM looking, its 'Rundo' centre cap certainly isn't. It's extremely bland, really letting down the design: :( http://i1225.pho...

Re: New member - 2011 Polo 1.2 TSI

Not bad, although they are flat, not convex like proper VW ones. I'd happily buy genuine VW centre caps, but don't know if any are available in 60mm? Could anyone with genuine Boavistas or other Polo alloys measure their centre caps to see if they're 60mm? Sorry for the delay mate, just seen this. ...

Re: Dayline Headlights

Oh yes. Now the 6R gets its share of the Dayline 'goodness'... Led sidelights only, no DRL (hence they're called 'DRL look '). Done with very dim and blueish leds you're used to seeing in those lairy Saxos and such. I'd happily wait for the proper(?) D-Lite version of the same headligh...

Has anyone removed the grill plates and do you have any tips otherwise I think I'm going to have to cut them out. I have. Removed and tips. http://www.louistools.de/catalog/images/products/kstools/9118120.jpg You need a plastic trim removal tool (set) similar to that picture to pry the grill ...

Re: Winter Wheels/Tyres for GTI

A 15" wheel does fit over the GTI brakes, at least the original VW Sima does: http://www.vagarena.fi/index.php?topic=3007.0 (see 3rd pic) 195/55R15 would be the ideal tyre size for a winter tyre. 16" is a safe wheel choice for the GTI brakes: 7x16", offset 35mm, PCD 5x100, CB 57.1mm ...

I wrote a little tutorial on how to retrofit a MFSW to a standard non-GTI Polo that didn't come with a factory-fitted MFSW. The tutorial can be read here.

6R - Multifunction Steering Wheel Retrofit

You'll need to reconfigure the CECM to get the multifunction buttons and the horn to function. http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee394/juha_tm/VW%20Polo/mfsw_retrofit/_p_koodaus_1.jpg In VCDS, select address 09. http://i1225.photobucket.com/albums/ee394/juha_tm/VW%20Polo/mfsw_retrofit/_p_koodaus_2...
