Re: Project Polo GTI
Well, I am no longer getting this as the owner has decided to keep it and sell it instead of swapping like he originally! He waited until two hours before I was supposed to pick it up before he told me... £220 insurance wasted which is going to take a week to get back!
My advice, if you come across ...

Re: Project Polo GTI
Right, not happy at all now.
I have stripped the Golf back to standard, removing all the audio bits and I just got a message from the Polo guy saying he wont do the swap unless I have the V5 logbook for the Golf! Thanks to the crappy garage I bought it from, I am still waiting for it... I reapplied ...

Tax Price
Anyone know how much 6 months tax is on the 1.6 GTI?
I am picking up my GTI tomorrow night and at the moment it has no tax... The guy said he will put 6 months on it for me if I pay him back in cash, bit I have no idea how much 6 months costs.

Standard Ride Height?
Does anyone know the standard ride height on the 9n2 1.6 GTI?
Mine was already lowered on coilies when I got it and it's literally 1.5" off the ground... looks awesome but ridiculous to drive around in. I want to lift it up a little but not sure how much to go by.

Retrofit Climatronic?
Is it at all possible to retrofit Climatronic into a 6n2 GTI to replace the manual controls?
I have all the toys including the leather interior but don't have climatronic.

Re: Project Polo GTI
Haha, tempting!
I think I should get it home before I buy anything for it haha! Although I almost bought some wind deflectors for it earlier haha.

Re: Project Polo GTI
Looks the part as well that, cheaper than the CDA as well?
Also, is it possible to fit climatronic to a polo with the normal manual controls? I thought it had it fitted but it didn't, although I am not complaining.
I keep looking at the pictures and am toying with the idea of a black bonnet, black ...

Re: Project Polo GTI
Undecided yet, I am quite liking the chrome and red theme... But I may paint the wheels black and tint the rear windows about 50%, also going to split the rear VW badge and paint the round bit red and stick it back together.
