I'm 99.9% sure it's chain driven :)

Re: Bye Bye Polo :(

Sweet mate! My local audi had a white, black editon S3 was lush but it was manual after having the dsg I couldnt live without it! Awesome car enjoy it and the fuel bills haha Yeah one of the reasons I don't like the Golf is because it's manual. I love paddleshift gearboxes, I can't go back now! Fue...

Re: Polo WRC

Personally I think it is a let down by VW. A good idea lost in translation to satisfy the model heirachy. Fwd - poor show Lhd only - sh!t show Manual only - WTF! Even the WRC car is sequential, at least give it as an option! Even the engine is a let down. VW have opted for the MKVI GTI engine...

Re: Polo WRC

I've been trying to find out when they will be releasing these for the past 8 months, dealers didn't even know of it.

Typical I get a new car and then it comes out :(

A bit disappointed with the figures though, only 0.5s shaved off the 0-60 time, and a manual gearbox? DSG would be miles better imo.

S-tronic. It's got most options on it but the only one I wish it had was sports seats. They're about £2.5k to retrofit  so will just stick with the standard ones for now!

how much did you loose on the golf ?
Lost a little bit but not too much. Probably not over £1k. Expensive mistake to make, but I'll use it as a reminder never to buy a diesel again! :)

Re: Bye Bye Polo :(

Sounds good, it'll be probably be the best car on the road used to tow stuff! You should get an orange caravan  And there's no real need to tweak a lots they're great cars as standard. Hope you enjoy it :) Luckily I won't need to tow stuff often, I have a track day only Honda CBR600RR t...

Thanks :)

No plans, other than fitting a towbar and getting proper iPod connectivity in instead of just the aux in socket.

Might powder coat the anthracite bits of the wheels in silver. Other than that it will be completely standard :)

very smart 8) a nice compromise between sportiness and sensibility Cheers, I can't help but feel it's too far into the 'sensibility' category though! I drove past a car dealer near me today which had this in the showroom - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201211204312439/sort/default/u...

Only offered £14k after 2 months?! That's insulting! I got that after 20 months of ownership and my car had a slight dint in the front wing.

Yes - good luck mate. My patience is wearing thin with repeated visits to the dealer, phone calls, emails, time wasted and so on for the oil consumption issue. Hopefully I will have some form of resolution soon. Cheers :) I was getting sick with the problems of the GTI. A great little car but hampe...

Re: Bye Bye Polo :(

I'm going in the same direction, let me know how you get on with the GTD. Did you buy a new GTD? It's 6 months old. 5 door (hate the 5 doors but need them for practicality). Metallic grey with black leather. Manual, winter pack, RNS510, cruise control, bluetooth and a few other extras. Took one on ...
