Re: Major power steering fluid leak
Yeah I'd tend to agree, I wasn't aware of how corroded it was either. Guess I'll search around for a decent quote, I'm nowhere technically minded enough to replace it myself.

Re: Major power steering fluid leak
Here's a photo of the leak, it seems to be coming out at the bend, you can see where it's dripped out and ran down.

Yeah I'll get a photo of it tomorrow.alexperkins wrote:The hoses are replaceable, and if it is split/cracked it should be replaced - certainly something as important as power steering hoses I wouldnt play games with.
Can you get a pic of the damage where its cracked/leaking from?

Major power steering fluid leak
Well I keep having problems with this car, after successfully fitting a new alternator last week, I threw in some Stop Leak to try and fix a slight power steering fluid leak I'd noticed a couple of weeks ago. However after driving the car on Saturday, I noticed it was leaking at an alarming rate ...

Re: Car won't start, not sure why!
Bumping this thread, 3 days after I installed new battery, the alternator warning light has came on. I can get a used alternator for £25 so am going to try swapping them over this weekend. Hoping that will be the end of it. Is there anything I need to know before switching it over? It look's as if ...

Re: Car won't start, not sure why!
Well it was indeed the battery, replaced it Monday and no problems since, except for the power steering fluid leak I've just found but that's for another day!

Re: Car won't start, not sure why!
Thanks for the reply mate, I'll get hold of a multi-meter from someone at work and see what it's says. I don't have a wear indicator on battery and I've no idea how old it even is as only had the car a year. I get the feeling it probably is battery though. Cheers again.

Car won't start, not sure why!
Here's the story, someone broke into my car on Friday night and left interior light on after they'd finished stealing absolutely nothing! I didn't discover this until Monday morning by which point the battery was totally dead.

Problem with car radio
Hi all, having an issue with my radio, a VDO Dayton. When it's on FM I can hardly hear it, even with the volume turned up to the max. Occasionally it works but never for long. I can listen to MW and the CD player at normal volume, just FM that isn't right.
Anyone heard of this issue before and any ...
