Putting a 1.3 gearbox in there will give it faster acceleration up to your top end speed but its getting a 1.3 gearbox to fit on to a 1.4 engine then think bout if its cable or hydric clutch unfortunately it aint jus a straight swap like

I have the 1.6GL p reg polo and I have the same nosie + I have lost 4th gear altogether so I don't no if the gearbox has gone but makes the wining noise wen free rolling
