So my car is officially a mk4 facelift but on this forum it's a mk 7 ? Am I right ?

Had a chat today with a vw salesman who had a good look at my car. He pointed out that this car is a VW mark 4 facelift model and is officially a Polo Mark IV Facelift (Typ 9N3, 2005–2009)
He also pointed me in the direction of Wikipedia for some help and I found the following -
