Hi Gringogreen, On the Polo, the sunglasses holder is either on the globe box (from factory) or replacing the handle that is on the roof (driver side or passenger side, your choice). Well, at least in cars with halogen from factory, when the low beams are On and you turn the steering wheel, the light fluctuates as your leds...that's why I suggested the alternator (let's say, it's not powerful enough when the revs are low), but maybe it's something else

could it be the alternator?
