Maybe see what sort of shape the cat is in? Mine made a knocking sound and it turned out to be the honeycomb stuff in the cat had had it. It was cracked so knocked about over bumps.
Is it also making a chafing or “metallic” sound? If it is it’s probably the cat.

That’s useful to know about the 9N3. I didn’t think there would be much difference but felt I should check.
All sorted now. Turns out all the drums needed was cleaning/lubing. All good now.
