from google searches it does sound like it could be the micro switch. Either way looks like I'll have to remove the door card and check.. Unless someone knows a definitive way of checking without taking anything apart

Hi There - My 2007 - Polo 1.4 Auto SE recently started acting up. It used to make a warning noise when the headlights were on when i opened the door. Hi All My knowledge on the Polo isn’t brilliant, the wifes 1999, Polo 1.4 Auto was experiencing issues with the temp gauge constantly dropping when driving along and only rising when idling. Having tried all the suggestions I'm still in the same situation. I removed the filler cap and ran the engine and squeezed the hose didn't get much release of air. I let it idle like that for a while. but it was taking too long to get the temperature to 90 so took it on a run but again the bottom ho...

Alax - Thanks for the reply. I just drained the coolant when changing the stat, from the temp switch and topped it up again. I didn't run the engine with the coolant cap removed so will try that today. Also will squeeze the bottom hose and have the heater setting on max.
