My husband help me to free the trim, but it turns out that the bumper has to come off to get access to the wiring and connecting block. A job for next weekend providing it stays dry enough.

I'm glad I found your post. I'm new to owning a VW and my 52 Reg 1.2 Polo does this also. I thought I was going to have to get it seen to by an auto-electrician as I thought I had this weird electrical fault.

I have a 2002 1.2 9n Polo since November last year and it came with an after-market rear number plate light fitted to replace the two originals that have had their wires cut for some reason. I want to remove it and refit a pair of new ones to sit in the proper recesses, but I think that I have to ...
