Re: Increase of speed when reducing throttle
If I was having fun I’d floor it for a bit then settle for steady driving, so effectively easing off. I had both a gti+ and the facelift gti and never experienced this issue.

Re: Force an OPF regen
I remember reading an article a couple of years back on gpfs and it basically said they cleaned themselves on engine braking and overruns. They differ in how they work to a dpf, which needs long periods at a constant temperature to clean themselves.

Re: It seems very quiet on the forum these days.
After some 2 1/2 years of ownership of my Polo GTI ... I discovered :
- You can't take the keys out the ignition if it's not in PARK. Silly me
- As you rev the engine, the graphics for highest digit that you hit on the rev counter "get larger". Never noticed this before.

Re: It seems very quiet on the forum these days.
I still check in daily even though I moved on from the gti in December 2023 and my wife moved on from her r line in September last year. Did see a reef blue gti last week (bit like the one I had issues with) and liked it. If I had my way I’d have my red gti back, but I got out voted last time!

Re: Changes for 2025
Haha what I want and what I should get are two different things. I love the polo gti (I’ve had enough of them let’s be fair) but my back doesn’t and the road noise drives my wife mad. Certainly looks nice in silver. Wanted a golf gti but Mrs L wanted a new bathroom instead.

Changes for 2025
I see the polo gti is now available in reflex silver for this year. Are there any other changes they’ve made for 2025?

Re: Low washer fluid warning
From memory, and it’s been a few years, the gti plus didn’t come with that as standard. You needed to specify the winter pack to get that and this link suggests that too https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/idhub/content/dam/onehub_pkw/importers/gb/downloads/brochures/used-cars/polo/polo-nf/polo-brochure ...

Hells teeth it’s amazing looking at that car that you are still here. Speaks a lot for the safety of cars. Hope you make a swift recovery.

Re: Pre-Facelift GTI
Having owned a gti plus (pre facelift) as well as the facelift gti and my wife had the 2016 gti as well, they’re a lot of fun. I drove my gti 60 miles a day to Manchester and back from Preston daily. Whilst it’s doable it did wear me down, the road noise, tyre noise, the wind noise and the ride as ...

Re: New edition 25 polo gti
How are people finding the Ed25 now they’ve had them a while? Anyone got one that had the standard facelift gti? Do the leather seats help with comfort?
I personally think the suspension in the Polo GTI - ED25 or non-ED25 - will be the main influencing factor as far as comfort is concerned. I ...

Re: I’m no longer a VW owner! 😮
Good to hear the Renault is going well. I definitely hoped to be in your position and when I left VW I had no plans to return, but the new golf is just nice from my own experience.

Re: I’m no longer a VW owner! 😮
Glad to hear your experience has been a good one. Can’t say the same for the Mazda CX30. After 369 days of ownership I’m considering going back to VW or trying a different brand at some point next year. I’ve even joined the golf gti forum to pick brains. I like your format so will copy it ...

Re: Polo GTI+ 2019 - Juddering at lower speeds
Fair enough, just would make sense to me for the dealership to say “whilst it’s in your car is due a dsg service, that would be £x amount do you want us to proceed with it?”. Maybe I’m just old fashioned!
