My road pilot indicates that the speedo over reads by 5mph.

However every car could be different depending on setup, tyre ware etc etc. 8)

I love the second gear ratio , is great for corners. Just taping the pedel gives you a real burst of speed , right up to the red line. The only thing I find is that you have to give it a load of revs in first gear to pull away smoothly? , however this might just be me geting used to the clutch as it...

Is washing the alloys every couple of weeks essential? , I noted in the manual that it is recomended. I've had my gti a few weeks and noticed some brake dust marks, is it just to make them look good - or will build up become harmful to their condition over time? Went looking for an alloy cleaner , m...

Thanks for the feedback, glad to know its standard. Seemed a dumb question , but last time I drove a new car it was in the USA and an automatic , hence with no clutch it was easy to left foot break! The only other thing I noticed is that the tires seemed to be really low profile - I take it th...

low down Accelerator pedal , is this normal?

Hi Guys, I just test drove a GTI , I loved it but noticed one thing and am not sure if it’s an issue. The clutch and brake pedal are much higher up than the accelerator. Compared to my mk3 polo this means it takes an extra second to lift my right foot up and over left to the brake. Sure I can left...

You could get a respray in R32 deep blue, that'd be beautiful 8) : YES good idea! that man - I was thinking baby blue or green. My budget is fairly tight , but the way I see it - I can go out an by an a3 or go create a one off. 8) Just a concept at the moment - but I have to purchase a car asap - s...

cool , thanks a lot for the links. Not cheap! , I think a GTI conversion would be the best bet. Leave the engine as a 1.6 , mabey a bit of a tune up. Seats should be easy to get hold of ? , the roll cage looks custom - could prove tricky and costly on the insurance! Time to talk a few places about t...

Hello Folks, Thought I should register at last. I have a K reg MKIII genesis with an NZ lump, running k coded digijet ecu. Sounds similar to the other chap - mine 'could' pull to 105mph, 70mph at 3100 rpm. Speaking to a guy at the 'garage' he reckoned about 65-75bhp as standard. I have followed a GT...
